About Chris Hargrave

Chris is an accomplished Speaker  and motivator on educational issues. he works both in the UK and abroad and is at home in the classroom as he is the boardroom or conference venue.

Qualifying in 1985, Chris has taught in Schools in and around Manchester for 15 years. Originally training as an Infant school teacher he went on to teach every age group from Nursery to year eight . He was Deputy Head Teacher at St John’s CE Primary School in Longsight Manchester for four years, during which time he took his National Professional Qualification for Head Teachers.

Afterwards he became an ICT advisor for Manchester LEA in June 1989 .During this time he helped develop educational software for the North West Learning Grid. It was whilst working here that Chris was head-hunted for the Position of Senior Producer for a software development Company. During the next two years Chris produced many software titles, ranging from materials for early years through to ‘A’ level.

For the last six years, Chris has been working with schools as an independent ICT advisor, focusing on actual classroom practice in order to help teachers  skills develop and also to enable those who are already competent to achieve that wow! factor.

Chris is equally comfortable working at executive level within companies and local Authorities and has been involved in the Building Schools of the Future (BSF) process where he has facilitated discussions between diverse partners.

Chris is an accomplished speaker and has lead awareness raising sessions for various groups with a vested interest in the education process. His themes focus in particular on the future of education

 He has also worked with a range of software developers to deliver training in schools and further content development. These days Chris only works with products he has used and fully believes can make a difference and companies who are committed to creating such tools.
